I may have an unmitigated love for the Sly Cooper series; something about cartoon animals committing acts of thievery fills me with admiration for the furry-franchise. And even though no word of a proper sequel has been announced, the unveiling of The Sly Collection HD at E3 has me scrounging up enough hope that a current-gen Sly Cooper title is still being considered.
Today Glen Egan, President of Sanzaru Games, posted some screens on PlayStation.Blog comparing The Sly Collection to its PS2 counterparts. Similar to the treatment that the first two God of War games received, The Sly Collection will feature all three Sly Cooper titles (Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus, Sly 2: Band of Thieves, and Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves) “remastered in HD with up-rezed textures and full 16:9 widescreen rendering to deliver the most vibrant, crisp Sly Cooper experience yet.”
In addition to high-def and widescreen, The Sly Collection will also feature trophies for all three games, mini-games designed for PlayStation Move, and 3D support – that’s the 3D tech Sony has been touting, not the old red/blue glasses. Now gaze at these screenies while I finish building my shrine.
