Unless you have a penchant for naivete, the concept of continuing the blockbuster Halo franchise after Bungie’s last hoorah should be by no means out of the question. And now, after continuous speculation, an employee of 343 Industries has seemingly exposed the company’s work on the next Halo title, inciting more – now substantiated – speculation.
The employee in question, Paul Ehreth, recently updated his LinkedIn profile to cite his new ‘Level & Mission Designer’ position at 343 as “Designing new levels and missions for the next Halo project.” Does this exactly out 343 Industries as making Halo 4? It’s quite possible, though since 343 is Microsoft’s internal Halo development studio, this “next Halo project” could be anything related to the franchise.
What’s more interesting to note is Ehreth’s past experience designing levels and gameplay for Kinect. Could he possibly utilize that knowledge for a Kinect-enabled Halo experience? Personally, I don’t think it’s a wild idea. In any case, don’t think that Microsoft’s mega space opera will disappear any time in the future.
