If you’re not doing anything this coming Friday night (and let’s face it, you’re not) head on over to your local Gamestop for a special event featuring Halo Reach.
From 9 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. you can get a sneak peak at Bungie’s newest masterpiece. This will include tips and tricks brought to you by professional gamer Tom “Tsquared” Taylor and new in-game footage. The new Firefight mode will also be on display, although there is no mention of whether it will be playable.
To find the local Gamestop in your area that’s hosting the event, go here. If you don’t have one near you or you would rather stay home, the footage and info will probably make its way onto the Internet within a matter of days. Of course, if you don’t go you won’t “have the chance to participate in a text-to-win sweepstakes for the chance to win a life-size Halo statue”.
Honestly, I’ve been to a couple of these events at Gamestop and it’s always a short video followed by some mediocre giveaway. The last one I went to was for Gears of War 2 and I ended up watching a short video with Cliffy B followed by a “tournament” where the prize was a 1600 MSP card. I did end up with a Gears t-shirt so it wasn’t a total loss.
Thanks to Unscripted360 for the heads up.
