Character Of The Week – Tetris Blocks

Our Character(s) Of The Week this week come to us from high above the board slowly falling down. Most times they have no problem falling correctly into open slots but there are a few bad eggs in the bunch that decide to turn. Our characters must work together clearing away as need be if not it is sure to spell doom or game over. Each part must fit the whole or our characters will have put up the fight but the battle will be in vain. Why not say hello to this weeks feature Character(s) Of The Week

Tetris Pieces

Our characters (pieces) would first see the light of day back in 1984 when a man by the name of  Alexey Pajitnov decided to program them. What would you name something that were just pieces nothing more? He derived its name from the Greek numerical prefix tetra-(all of the game’s pieces, known as Tetrominoes, contain four segments) and tennis, Pajitnov’s favorite sport. Our characters would soon learn that such a quick rise to the top was certain to bring everything crashing down to the ground. Like rapid fire they quickly caught on becoming an addiction for some while others scoffed from the sidelines knowing the end would soon be near.

All the Tetris pieces are well traveled having seen many different facets of their small world but also being able to make an impact in each. Whether they were traveling on handheld or stuck in a console at home they knew just what was expected of them. Complete the puzzle continue to build just to watch the destruction around you all the time trying to reach higher levels. Speed, with the promise of fortune fame and bright lights would be the demise of a good thing. Like any other great star though our characters refuse to be beaten and continue to grow taller and stronger with each passing day. Unfortunately every good thing has to come to an end sooner or later that’s when we get the Game Over screen.
