Microsoft Announces New Transforming D-Pad Controller

So remember earlier when we told you that Microsoft was planning a redesigned d-pad? Well, Major Nelson has just announced it — and it transforms. Yes, transforms.

The new d-pad actually transforms. It can go “from a plus to a disc with the twist of the wrist.” which sounds pretty sweet, but why did it take so long to come up with that? Along with the redesigned d-pad, the controller has a matte silver finish, concave analog sticks & grey A,B,X,Y buttons, for the people who appreciate style.

The controller will set you back $64.99 and will be released only with the new Play & Charge Kit starting on November 9th. Watch Major Nelson show off the new controller in action below.
