Did that sentence make no sense to you? You must not care about the Japanese arcade scene, then… or children’s television.
Kamen Rider Battle: Ganbaride is an interesting and popular arcade game in Japan. In it, you play as pairs of Kamen Riders in fights against each other, but you select your characters using real world cards. Much like Barcode Battler, you scan your card to get new characters, powers, etc. For example, I have a card of Kamen Rider Kuuga Ultimate Rising on my shelf. Kamen Rider is the sister series of Super Sentai (what we get as Power Rangers), and has shown up in America a few times (Kamen Rider V3 and Kamen Rider: The Next are available subbed, Saban’s Masked Rider and Kamen Rider Dragon Knight were adaptations).
CSToys has reported that Kamen Rider Garren (from Kamen Rider Blade) and Kamen Rider Den-O’s Super Climax Form won a fan vote in Japan, and will be added to the game. Garren was last seen in Kamen Rider Decade, and Den-O’s Super Climax Form has only been used a few times. Check out it’s introductory transformation and finisher.
While the arcade game will likely never come out in America, there is a DS port that you can easily import. As a huge fan of Kamen Rider, I can only suggest checking out the action.
