In today’s Please-Oh-Please-Let-It-Be-True News, a well known Germanic tabloid, Bild, leaked the release date for Nintendo’s newest hand held money-making machine. According to Kotaku, they claim to know a specific release date for Japan, how much it will cost, and even a few launch games.
According to Bild, the Nintendo 3DS will go on sale in Japan on November 11. It will then “probably” go on sale in Europe in spring 2011 and is priced at €200. Release info. for North America is not mentioned.
Bild also lists launch titles for the Nintendo 3DS: Mario Kart 3D, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, and Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle.
It is worth noting that the Bild is the biggest selling newspaper in Europe. It is also a tabloid and isn’t exactly noted for backing up every story it prints. In this article, the paper bluntly gives the release date as fact without alluding to where the information came from.
So, yeah, it seems like the newspaper may not have hardcore credibility, and the US isn’t even mentioned anywhere, but we can hope can’t we? At least we don’t have to wait long for the real and harsh truth; this Wednesday, September 29, Nintendo will reveal to the world release dates and price points (and hopefully a whole lot more) for the hand held. I would be ecstatic if it came out for the holidays, but its seeming less and less likely. I for one haven’t been this excited for a portable gaming device since the DS Lite, hell maybe even the original DS. Maybe if we all cross our fingers?
