Definitely Sherlock Holmes’ most nefarious rival, Professor Moriarty is arguable one of the greatest literary villains of all time. Though he only had a small set of apperances in Guy Ritchie’s 2009 adaption “Sherlock Holmes” as a character who sat in the shadows of carriages and train carts, will be bought to light and further life by Mad Men star Jared Harris.
Aside from Mad Men, Harris’ has starred in Natural Born Killers, Resident Evil: Apocalypse, and several other film and television roles. This is a major plus for fans of Sherlock, and this direction Ritchie is taking. And especially fans of Moriarty, who’s last film outing was in the disappointing adaption of “The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.” I see you Mr. Moore. I see you.
So what are you thinking dear reading? Do you feel that Mr. Harris was properly cast for the role? Does he have the chops to work with the duo of Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law? We’ll see in December next year!
