NYCC 2010: Green Hornet 3D Movie

While at NYCC we were treated to a two minute preview of  the upcoming Green Hornet movie in 3D and Black Beauty(Green Hornets Car) was there in all of it’s glory.  I wish I was able to capture the 2 minute preview but I wasn’t able to so I provide a preview from Sony (below).  I did snap a couple of pictures for your viewing pleasure and the picture of Black Beauty is the actual car that was used in the movie (well one of them).
Now onto my impression of the preview.  The graphics where awesome as we watched in 3D, but the trailer was mediocre and left me feeling that I really might just pass on this one when it comes out on the big screen January 14, 2011. I am not a big Green Hornet fan but I do enjoy Green Hornet and I feel Seth Rogen might not be the right choice but I guess we will have to wait and see, I hope that I am wrong on this one and if you are a Green Hornet let me know your impressions of Seth Rogen playing the part Britt Reid and the preview below.

  • Eesh, it’s like every movie that has some kind of action, or CGI is going to be in 3D.

What have you done James Cameron?!

  • The car looks badass. I agree that Seth Rogan is not the right choice. It’s going to be filled with stupid jokes now instead of action. Rental for sure.

Jay Chou rocks as Kato 🙂 I hear he’s going to produce a theme song for the movie, too. (Knowing Chou’s music, it’s gonna be flawless and awesome)

For those who don’t know, the guy playing Kato is Asia’s biggest star ever born, a singer-songwriter-actor-movie director. He acted in a number of kung-fu movies like Kung Fu Dunk, The Treasure Hunter, True Legend by Matrix coreographer Yuen Wo Ping and won best supporting actor award for Zhang Yimou’s Curse of the Golden Flower. Check him out on youtube and wikipedia.

I think the movie is going to be a good enough action flick, not extraordinary or remarkable, but a good one-time entertainment popcorn movie. I hope they hired some pro Asian action coreographer for this movie, at least for Kato’s scenes, otherwise the fighting won’t be impressive…

The trailer looks okay and the 3D footage looks real good.

Anyways, I’ll be in the cinema for this movie for sure because of Kato.
He looks great in both the trailer and 3D footage.

I even heard that Jay Chou(Kato) is probably producing the theme song for this movie, and I’m looking forward to it.
    His songs are really great.
