PS3 Sound System Coming Next Week

At E3 this year, Sony announced they would be releasing an all-in-one Surround Sound System, with built-in subwoofer, for the PS3. Well, today they announced that the sound bar will be available for purchase next week. Sound bars are an excellent choice for people who don’t want the hassle of setting up typical surround sound system, and this is specifically designed to match your PS3. Simply place the bar in front of your television and plug it into your PS3 with an optical cable, and bam, you’re ready to go. The PlayStation Blog said the following about the Surround Sound System:

The Surround Sound System utilizes cutting-edge technologies, including Sony’s S-Force PRO Front Surround Sound that creates the equivalent of a home theater system, bringing to life in-game sounds not normally audible with conventional acoustic systems. Bringing in SCE’s expertise in both entertainment and technology acquired from developing games, four sound fields and two sound modes have been designed with the help of our expert game sound designers.
