  • First, Scott, sorry ComiCon sucked – people probably heard anime and thought there was free pr0n.

The demo/beta validity issue is one I was working on an article for, so I’m interested to hear what you guys come back to on that. I think most consumers do confuse beta and demo, but I look at beta as an unfinished product that I reserve judgement on, while a demo is a developer’s presentation of their game to me, which I will use to make a purchase decision.

Since you’ll be reading this before the 23rd of October, you’re now giving a shout-out to my Extra Life gaming marathon that I’m donig a week later – donations are still accepted – check out for more info!

And one last comment on the Best Buy charging for firmware update bit – I can see ONE acceptable instance for this: if someone doesn’t have a high speed internet connection at home, and wants to use the 3D functionality (which has come via a firmware update, if I’m not mistaken), or any other functionality that has been updated since the Ps3 was boxed. And Steve, thanks for calling me out on my breaking news – I admit, I was heading out of town for the weekend, and needed something for my writing day, and saw this news hadn’t hit out site. Remember, if they didn’t read it here, it didn’t happen!

I think I have successfully taken more time now than Mark Rea’s phone messages, so I will stop. See you all on Saturday at 8am during my gaming marathon! Hope you like Atari 2600 games!
