P*N New This Week: 24th October 2010

Welcome to Platform Nation’s weekly feature where we inform you, the reader, on all the game releases you should be looking out for.

Each week as well as bringing you news about which games are due to hit the shelves in the seven days ahead, the Platform Nation writer will choose their pick of the week.

My pick for this week is:

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2: The game takes place about seven months after the events of the first game, and a year before Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. With Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, the epic story continues as players once again assume the role of the devastatingly powerful Starkiller – Darth Vader’s secret apprentice set during the largely unexplored era between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.

My View: Any Star Wars fan will want this game for a couple of reasons. Firstly, Lucasarts will have refined and (hopefully) improved the mechanics, physics and just about everything else from the first game.  More powerful force powers should be at your disposal and as this is meant to be the dark episode, there should be plenty of destruction.  Finally, Lucasarts themselves have claimed there will be less comic relief characters (Jar Jar Binks) in the story, which went a long way to ruining episodes 1-3.

I think your pick of the week is weak! Rock Band 3 ftw, Buster! heh 🙂

  • Not picking Tony Hawk Shred as your pick of the week was a bad idea. Because the Tony Hawk series is amazing, right?

Na, good job though. Force Unleashed 2 looks shweeeet!
