Lucha Libre AAA: Héroes del Ring is an action sports game based on the Mexican sport of “Lucha Libre” style wrestling. Featuring all of the most popular “luchadores” from Mexico’s premiere wrestling federation, the game offers fans of existing wrestling franchises an evolved and unique gaming experience which is more acrobatic and fast-paced than those of existing wrestling franchises.

Key Features:

  • Authentic Mexican wrestling venues: In Lucha Libre AAA: Héroes del Ring matches will take place in the same arenas used by the AAA, as well as, locations which are represntative of the Mexican culture and Lucha Libre legend.
  • Customizable Character Editor: Featuring a never before seen “Mask editor”, the game’s “create a fighter” feature allows players to design their own mask and also choose their clothes with many options for editing the look of the clothes.
  • Online Gameplay: Competitors will see intense and competitive online matches that will see 2-4 players will choose from their own created Luchadors or one of the 30 featured in the game. In this mode, wrestlers wager their mask or hair against their opponents in a winner-take-all battle for humiliation purposes.

One of your greatest weapons in Lucha Libre AAA: Héroes del Ring is the crowd…..

Being a wrestling game you will be getting in the ring and facing off against some of the best luchadors. Scoring is largely popularity-based allowing players to unlock better more effective high flying acrobatic moves. Learning to taunt your oppenent is essential to winning the chants of the crowd giving you the power to pummel your opponent. Players will face off using 30 real life luchadors that all retain their signature movements and taunts. You will play as a Tecnico (Good Guy) or Rudo (Bad Guy) entertaining the crowd will be your key to countering your opponent and unlocking destructive acrobatic moves.

Brings back the joy to wrestling type games that was once thought to be long gone. Moves do not require multiple button presses that seem to only hinder the fun of the game. New players have the option to train and check out the game and learn the ropes so to speak. One of the best features that makes Lucha Libre AAA: Héroes del Ring stand above the rest is the mask and character editor. Options seem endless in combination’s of the types of masks you can create for your luchador. Story mode has two very unique sides that you can carry your created wrestler through.

One major draw back to the game was when grappling, punching or kicking your opponent. Often you would see your strikes fly through the other character on screen even though the punch was solid to the chest. Movement felt slow even when running many times my wrestler was caught on phantom edges of the environment. Voice acting in the story mode did lack the luster you would expect from a game like this. Controls were also clunky feeling it did take away from the experience that should have been fast paced and lightning fast.

If you are looking for an alternative to Smack down Vs. Raw look no further Lucha Libre AAA: Héroes del Ring offers a great opponent in the ring of digital wrestling. Small snags are no reason to look past the great offering that Immersion brings to the wrestling world. If you are a long time fan of wrestling games or the Smack down Vs. Raw titles you may not want to pass this one up. You may find fault with the controls but the story brings to light Lucha Libre style wrestling players will also be pulled into the feel of the Mexican Culture brought out by the wrestlers.
