My one beef with Def Jam Rapstar was all the censoring of the lyrics on screen it killed the flow of game play. When spitting a verse you feel like a train wreck when you get to a part with a missing word. Censored lyrics would not be so bad if whole chunks of songs were not missing. Videos that play with the songs many times still have the included swear words so to blur them in the rap is pointless. If 4mm was trying to go for a teen audience the game should have completely done away with swearing. Hopefully a patch of some sort will soon hit that gives users the option for un-censored versions of the lyrics.

Def Jam Rapstar will be a great game to add to your collection of music based games if you already own Sing Star you will feel right at home. So whether you are an aspiring rapper a wanna-be or just enjoy a music game Def Jam Rapstar has something for you. Censored lyrics only hinder the game a small portion the game is still playable even with the swearing missing. Depending on the player different game types will offer players a wide range of options. No matter if you enjoy a game solo or decide that you want to enjoy the game with friends Def Jam Rapstar will offer a stage for both performances.

  • This is a good party game, it has a nice mix of old & new school. Lots of dope tracks but it would be nice to have an Eminem or Jay-Z. The community feature is cool. I dig this game.
