Oh Man! These past few weeks leading up to and following Thanksgiving have been hectic beyond all belief! I have not had time to do an update on my Kinect progress and for that, I apologize. For those of you who do not know, I am conducting an experiment with Microsoft’s slick new Kinect. I want to see if I can really loose weight and get healthier just by playing games on it. In order to prove my point, I am not changing anything else (diet or other exercise) for the time being.
Unfortunately, I have not had the time to devote to exercising with the Kinect like I had first planned in my own little mind. I still get on and play, but not like I wanted to. Originally, I wanted to use Kinect and it’s many games a minimum of every other day. I’m more like twice a week. The thing that sucks about this is that I have been having a lot of fun when I do exercise! Yes, you heard that right. It is “fun” to exercise when you do it with Kinect.
My opinion of Kinect is very high. I’m having a blast with Dance Central while Kinect Sports, Kinect Adventures, and Your Shape: Fitness Evolved are great games to get you sweating as well. I highly recommend Kinect to anybody who wants to improve their health, but dreads exercise. You will be amazed at how great this is for getting you off of your tush and getting yourself active.
And now for the good stuff, even with a less than desirable turnout, I have still dropped 5lbs since last update for a total of 8lbs in my first month. Don’t forget that that is even with the weight watcher’s evil nemesis, Thanksgiving Dinner. Mine included deep-fried turkey, all the fixings, apple pie, peanut butter pie, and my weakness, pumpkin cheesecake (I ate half of it and still managed to loose the weight!). Imagine the state I would be in if I had not been able to play Kinect at all!
