All Good Things Come To Those Who Wait

After close to a full year of PC and Xbox 360 exclusivity, PS3 owners are finally going to experience the wonder of Mass Effect 2. And while they may be behind the times chronologically,  technologically it’s their turn to gloat.

Mass Effect 2, thanks to an extra year of development time, will sport improved graphics due to the fact that it uses the Mass Effect 3 engine.

Producer Jesse Houston revealed the information on the official BioWare podcast.

One of the first things you’re going to see is improved graphics. We actually created the engine for Mass Effect 3 and used that to make Mass Effect 2 PS3. So we took the content, the story and all of the other assets that made up Mass Effect 2 and we put it into the Mass Effect 3 engine.

On top of the flashier graphics, the PS3 version of ME2 will feature fewer bugs and a new control scheme. Perhaps, just this once, BioWare can be forgiven their tardiness to the PlayStation party.
