“Retro City Rampage” To Wreck Xbox Live First

WiiWare’s honestly had it’s fair share of troubles. It took forever for a demo system to be established, and even then, it’s rarely used. Nintendo’s offered nearly zero promotion for the service (alongside it’s Virtual Console), instead relying on straight profit from sales (instead of using a percentage to advertise). In comparison, Xbox Live has been both a critical and commercial success. It looks like this quality has partly swayed Brian Porvinciano to release Retro City Rampage first on Xbox Live.

Retro City Rampage is the upcoming homage to Grand Theft Auto and classic NES gameplay. Naturally, it was a perfect fit for the Wii. The game was due for WiiWare this year, before being delayed to add more content. Porvinciano says that the game will hit Xbox Live first for financial reasons. He adds an apology for the delay to the Wii iteration.

Either way, I can’t wait for the game.
