Game Review: Exclusion Zone

Exclusion Zone is categorized as a “strategic line drawing game.” You as the player are in charge of protecting your military base from enemy aircraft, which range from B-2 Stealth Bombers to Apache Helicopters. Direct your rockets with precision and take them out! One wrong move and it’s Game Over!
The main goal in this game is just to keep the enemy aircraft away from your landing strips. The planes and landing strips are color coded so you can tell which plane will be trying to go down which runway. Put your finger on what I would call the missile silo and drag it in the path you wish for it to go. The first thing you’ll learn is that the missiles go slow. You have to really think about where you’re going to set the missile so that it perfectly aligns with the plane.
There is always a change of scenery as well, you go from mountains to forests, deserts and oceans. Though the general idea stays the same, at least it doesn’t become overly repetitive. Also you have the chance to obtain bonus weapons, and there is availability for online competition as well.
- OpenFeint achievements
- Teaches strategy
I personally would have given it a bit more detail, it’s rather bland looking and you practically do the same thing over and over again. I understand that it’s a mobile game and there’s not a whole lot to be done though. Missiles could move a bit faster, but then that would defeat the “strategy” part of the game.
Overall, I wouldn’t purchase this, no matter the cost. But, if you’re bored and need to waste time, it is a good game for doing just that. You can get addicted in trying to beat your score though, so if you’re looking to up your skills, and it becomes a free app, I’d go for it!
Maybe it will be a free app one day.
