As you may have heard a little event named MAGFest is set to kick off January 13th and run through January 16th, providing us with a video gaming festival run by gamers for gamers. Well this year they will be hosting a charity auction for Child’s Play on Sunday January 16th with a 100% of the proceeds going to the charity. As a lot of us know Child’s Play has raised millions of dollars and provided over 60 children hospitals with games and toys for those children in those hospitals. Here are some of the things that will be available at the auction:
There are going to be some much sought after items up for auction, and here’s just a few of the big ticket ones:
- CDs and Posters for Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY signed by composer Nobuo Uematsu, and conductor Arnie Roth. This package generously was donated by the people behind Distant Worlds.
- Civilization 5, signed by the development team, including Sid Meier
- Rock Band 3 keytar bundle, signed by all the MAGFest bands.
- Rock Band 3 Pro Guitar, signed by all the MAGFest bands
These are just a small sampling of the items that will be up for auction, so come bid and show your support! In addition to the auction items that we provide, MAGFest is gladly accepting donations of items to put up for auction. Contact MAGFest, and tell them if you have anything that you’d like to be added to the Child’s Play charity auction! The auction will be held on the last day of MAGFest, Sunday, January 16th.
I always love to hear about events like this as it is a great cause and gamers get to show that we just don’t game we also care. As gamers when the call for help goes out we are there to listen and nice job to MAGFest and here is to a successful event.
