Welcome to Platform Nation’s weekly feature where we inform you, the reader, on all the game releases you should be looking out for.
Each week as well as bringing you news about which games are due to hit the shelves in the seven days ahead, the Platform Nation writer will choose their pick of the week.
I like to think I keep my ear to the ground when it comes to gaming and the big titles coming out but I have to confess I haven’t heard of some of these. Very slim pickings for PS3 owners it seems. Though with DC Universe online out next week things should improve pretty quickly.
Pick of the Week
ilomilo (Xbox 360). Well its another puzzle game released this week where you control two cute little friends with some half decent looking graphics. Hopefully it will play as well as it looks. Did I mention it looks really good? And super cute.
And the rest of this week’s runners and riders…
Battle vs Chess (Nintendo DS). Here the developer has tried to combine two proven genres, that is puzzle (chess) and fighting (battle). We will see how well they have pulled it off shortly.
Get Fit with Mel B (Wii). Another “keep fit” so-called “game” for the Wii. Is this the only genre of game that sells on the Wii or something? Anyway we will give it the benefit of the doubt and see if it slips into the realms of shovelware.
Lost In Shadow (Wii). This is shaping up to be a decent puzzler with some unique graphics. Lets see how it lends itself to the the Wii’s unique control system.
Sherlock Holmes and the Mystery of Osborne House (Nintendo DS). A follow up to the above average Mystery of the Mummy we again revisit the world of Sherlock Holmes. Let’s pray it can keep up with the Professor Laytons of this world and get a good score.
All of these titles are available through the Platform Nation Amazon Storefront.
