A recent post over at Joystiq and the Playstation Blog, discuss details on the upcoming Tomb Raider Trilogy. The trilogy includes remastered versions of Tomb Raider: Legends and Tomb Raider: Anniversary, as well as Tomb Raider: Underworld which was already released for the PlayStation 3.
Included are remastered HD versions of Anniversary and Legend as well as the final chapter in the trilogy Underworld. In addition, The Tomb Raider Trilogy includes an exclusive static theme pack, Lara Croft and Viking Thrall avatars for PlayStation Home as well as trailers that go behind the scenes of all three titles.
Recent releases of game collections, such as God of War 1 & 2 and the Sly Cooper release have been a great way to introduce these games to a new audience on the PlayStation 3 with upgraded graphics to take advantage of the PS3 hardware. As with any gaming collection, I am always cautiously optimistic that the game will live up to my expectations. However, I think that with the current trend of treating these collections with respect, the Tomb Raider Trilogy will be just as worthy of being played as any other game.
The Tomb Raider Trilogy will be released on March 22 retailing for $39.99.
