  • Andrew, there’s a line in this article that I find hard to believe, unless I’ve misinterpreted it.

“The ‘Playstation Phone’ will include 50 launch games, which will be available ‘right out of the box’. Including games like: Asphalt Adrenaline 6, Bruce Lee, Star Battalion, The Sims 3, and Tetris.”

Are you saying that 50 games will come pre-installed on the Xperia PLAY? Going by the names you dropped such as the Sims 3, Asphalt, and Tetris, this may very well be well over $150 in free content, and I could imagine such a vast amount of free game content as an extreme deterrent to people who buy the phone to ever even need to buy a new game for it.

I’m assuming what you meant to say is that the Xperia PLAY launch will see 50 launch titles available for purchase right out of the box, right?

  • Here is what the press release said:

“Xperia™ PLAY will provide a best-in-class gaming experience right out of the box with many of the most popular games pre-loaded, including Asphalt Adrenaline 6, Bruce Lee, Star Battalion, The Sims 3, and Tetris.”

So I take it those are free games. I would hope so.

As for the 50 launch games, it is correct. This is what the press release said:

“More than 50 additional titles from top franchises at leading game publishers will be available for purchase at launch.”

Hope that ties up any confusion you had. Also, thanks for the comment! 🙂
