The newest teaser for Alice: Madness Returns, if nothing else, provides a gruesome explanation of its title. Madness Returns is the sequel to 2000’s American McGee’s Alice, which was a macabre incarnation of the Lewis Carroll classic. And from this newest trailer, which shows off volcanoes of destruction emitting flying birds on fire and a mean looking Alice face-stabbing some pore cyclops-imp creature, I think “macabre” may need to be replaced by something a little more hardcore. I still don’t fully get what kind of game it is exactly (I’d never even heard of the first game until this one’s announcement), but I can get behind a pissed-off Alice in Wonderland tale any day.
Alice: Madness Returns will supposedly (and hopefully) be released sometime towards the end of this year, on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
