Looks like the first salvo in LG’s war with Sony has been fired. After various legal attempts, LG has succeeded in blocking exporting PlayStation 3s to Europe. LG has been attacking Sony over patent disputes.
The ruling by the civil court of justice in the Hague means that all new PS3s have to be confiscated as they are imported into the UK and the rest of Europe for at least 10 days.
While consoles are currently banned from import, chances are this will be solved rather quickly. Most likely, this would be settled out of court, allowing consoles to be sold again. Sony theoretically has enough PS3s on shelves to last weeks, but long-term would cause problems.
