In recent news, GAME (a large video game retailer in the UK) has initiated a scheme whereby customers have the option to pre-order a pre-owned version of a particular game before it is available. Sounds odd, doesn’t it? One point to note is this scheme is only a trial as only a limited number of game titles are being offered in this pre-owned scheme.
Those games include Crysis 2, Homefront, Dragon Age II, Need for Speed: Shift 2 And Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12. All of which will be a available a week later pre-owned after the initial launch of each title for a reported £33 which is quite a saving in comparison to the usual price of £39.99. It will be interesting to see how successful this scheme is when it replies upon gamers trading in their games in the first place. My question to you is, would you be tempted to wait for a week in order to save a small amount or would you rather pay the full price and enjoy the game on the day of it’s launch?
