Final Mass Effect 2 DLC Annoucement Has “Arrived” Today

Attention all Mass Effect fanboys and fangirls alike: commence squealing sequence now. Bioware has announced it’s final DLC pack for Mass Effect 2, simply dubbed “Arrival”. BioWare has been teasing it’s fans all week by releasing screenshots of an upcoming DLC mission. That mysterious mission has finally been confirmed today. “Mass Effect: Arrival is an exciting extension to Mass Effect 2 and will show players just how close the Reapers are to returning and completing their deadly harvest,” said Casey Hudson, Executive Producer of the Mass Effect series.

Arrival will take Commander Shepard to the edge of the galaxy to recover a secret operative who may have evidence of the impending Reaper invasion. Long time fans of the series will also recognize a familiar face. Admiral Hackett is said to play an important role the DLC, and will be voiced by Lance Henrikson (Aliens, Terminator).

Arrival will set players back only 560 MS Points, about $6.50 on the PlayStation Network, and 560 BioWare points for PC players. The pack also includes three achievements/trophies. The final mission will begin March 29, so go warm up those engines. This is bound to be a good one.

  • Must Buy! Thanks for the heads up! 🙂

  • Cant wait to get it, ive gotten all the other dlc for this game

  • “The simple things in life truly are the best.” – Cayci Phillips

I like your comment there. very inspiring. of course when i think this tho i think that the simple things in life, can be defined differently for everyone i think. like to me, taking a hike up a mountain, or bike ride, or even playing games like you say, true.

  • Any chance to have Garrus on my side again, I am all for it <3 Garrus!

  • My whole squad is now loyal to me and we are about to go through Omega 4 gateway, should I wait for this DLC or do you think it is a mission we can play after completeion of the game.

One of the things that annoyed me about ME1 was that I could the DLC after completion and could play the DLC without replaying the first couple of hrs of the game

    • Some reviewers have actually recommended doing this DLC after beating the game, simply because it seems to fit the best with the story. Since most sources indicate that this is essentially a bridge between the story of ME 2 and ME 3, it makes sense. According to an interview from Casey Hudson, the story of “Arrival” will change slightly depending on when the player chooses to access it. You can complete the new mission anytime after Horizon, so you may want to try it both ways to see what changes. That’s probably what I’ll do. (I have my primary character file that is already completed, and I just started an insanity run.) Either way, I’m sure this is going to be an awesome mission pack if the previous DLC is any indication (if it’s as good as “shadow broker”, we’ve got it made.) The bummer is that this is the last we get until ME 3 comes out…. 6 whole months. :-p

You could probably play the DLC after you complete the game. If it were me, I would play the DLC before the suicide mission if I had it. But I already beat the gme before most the DLC came out.

    • yo cayci, im from barbados i got all dlc except guns pack but i have eased off playing it and not even finnish yet cause i dont want it to end, is this foolish or do u fully understand?

      • Oh I understand you completely. However, Mass Effect 2 has one of the most fulfilling endings I’ve ever played. And the best part is you can go back and play it’s greatness all over again. Don’t deprive yourself of an awesome experience!
