For those Rally fans out there that are old enough to remember the short introduction and banning of Group B Rally in 1986, Codemasters have released a new gameplay video showing some of the iconic cars from the group in action. With light regulations and few restrictions on the development of cars, manufacturers took advantage producing supercharged cars the likes of which had never been seen in the sport previously. In DiRT 3, the Group B discipline gives players the ultimate test as they jump behind the wheel of some of the most famous cars to compete in the sport including the Ford RS200, MG Metro 6R4 and Peugeot 205 T16 Evo 2.
“The legendary Group B cars are some of the most sophisticated rally cars ever built,” said Paul Coleman, Senior Games Designer on DiRT 3. “Their raw power and unbridled speed make them a real challenge. They definitely separate the men from the boys.”
From 24th May 2011 you can relive the Group B glory days on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC but until then have a look at the video.
