As Rock Band continues to march on with DLC week after week, I’ve recently made a new commitment to play Rock Band more, download more, and learn all the instruments I have. In doing this, I’ve been going through my songs that I already own, and realized I had many songs that I had never even played before, despite owning for years (Red Hot Chili Peppers Blood Sugar Sex Magik album, I’m looking at you). This prompted the ASQ this week:
Have you purchased DLC that you haven’t played yet?
I originally had posed this question specific to Rock Band DLC, but realized this could be applied to any DLC that has been purchased, as I have a few arcade games that I haven’t played yet as well (yes, I’m aware I’m using DLC and Digital Downloads interchangeably here). I do plan on playing all of the games and songs I downloaded, but for some reason (whether it was songs in a pack that I wasn’t as excited about, or games on discount that I bought and plan to play later) I have a stockpile of stuff to play.
Some responses I received to this question include:
@agentcoop007: Yes, yes I have. Now that we are up to 983 songs in RB3 & 3 years of DLC buying a few (lol) songs are left unplayed so far #PNASQ
@markwithers: I generally only buy Rock Band DLC when its on offer and without checking I know I own some I have not played.#PNASQ
@Tanglebonitis: Yeah, if I buy a big pack, and only get around to playing one or two songs (Beegees, I’m looking at you) #PNASQ
@Ind1fference: yes. But I can’t recall what the DLC was. #PNASQ
Jason C.: Not yet, it is possible in the future to have songs dl’d and not used if bundled together.
Thanks to those that responded this week. Keep an eye out in #PNASQ on Monday when I’ll pose next week’s question.
A Simple Question (ASQ) is a weekly segment for Platform Nation. Each week on Monday, I’ll ask a question on Twitter at #PNASQ. Give a response and let the world know what you think; there is no right or wrong answer here. If you have a suggestion for a question, hit me up on twitter @vttym.
