Mortal Kombat Legacy Episode 2 Impressions; Note, Spoilers Ahead

Episode 2 of Mortal Kombat Legacy was released earlier today. As some of you may be aware, I just discovered the Mortal Kombat Legacy series yesterday at the Passover Sedar and enjoyed it greatly. This second episode is a bit shorter, clocking in at a mere nine minutes, and about the first and a half of these minutes is spent on a recap of the previous episode, which is pretty unnecessary for a webseries.

Note, please watch the previous episode before reading further.

After the recap, we get right back into the action with the fight between Kano and Jax escalating. After her escape from last episode, Sonya also beats the crap out of some Dark Dragon thugs, and it’s great to finally see her enter badass mode. The fight between Kano and Jax is also equally as entertaining and well choreographed, especially given the budget.

The fight itself is peppered with some tactful use of slo-mo as well as a few well placed one liners, and without spoiling anything, concludes with the viewer knowing how Kano gets his laser eye and how Jax gets his metal arms. Sonya also gets sent to the hospital to boot.

Although the episode was extremely entertaining, the running time is really only about seven minutes, and is a bit short even for a webisode. Hopefully this great two episode first arc leads to more great things to go. I’m just wondering when Baraka, Reptile and Scorpion are going to make appearances like in the Mortal Kombat: Rebirth movie pitch, which you can watch below.

Be sure to take a look at the second episode of Mortal Kombat: Legacy, as it’s one series so pumped with man-tosterone that you’d be foolish to miss out.

  • It was actually the Black Dragon clan, but I agree they should make it a little longer, but its leading to great things. I hope they have all the charcters, cage, kang, lao, ect. Hope it get much better

Oh, I wrote Dark Dragon didn’t I? Not what I meant, I’m not super familiar with the Mortal Kombat mythos. This was a nice intro arc, but I’m hoping they explore more characters and actually get to the tournament in some form.
