Yet again I find myself giving bad news to people that a game has been delayed… by a week. Red Faction Armageddon was originally scheduled to release on May 31st, but has been pushed back to June 7th. That’s not a huge deal, but it now makes June have even more of the most anticipated games of the year with Alice Madness Returns, Shadows of the Damned, Duke Nukem Forever, Child of Eden, Infamous 2, and Dungeon Siege III.
There is some very good news within this though. On May 3rd a Red Faction Armageddon demo will be hitting Xbox Live. Here’s the press release giving you all the details:
“On June 7, Red Faction: Armageddon is set to explode onto the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and Windows PC in North America. Red Faction: Armageddon will ship internationally on June 10.
Additionally, THQ announced today the free playable demo of Red Faction: Armageddon is scheduled to be available on the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft on May 3.
In the demo, consumers will be introduced to Darius Mason and fight their way through the Martian sewers and an oncoming alien infestation. Meanwhile, Darius must clear his name as the colonists have blamed him for unleashing the alien threat that has ravaged the underground cities of Mars.
Players will have at their disposal the Nano Forge as they combat alien invaders with concussive blasts and core-shattering tremblers. Rebuild all that you destroy with the Nano Forge’s incredible Reconstruction ability. Finally, throw entire buildings at your enemies with Red Faction’s signature weapon, the Magnet Gun.
The Red Faction: Armageddon demo is also scheduled to be available on the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system on May 3 or once the PlayStation Network has been restored.
For a limited time, fans can enter to win over $12,000 in prizes as part of the Red Faction “Countdown to Win.” To enter and learn more about the contest, please visit www.redfaction.com/countdown.”
