Gears Of War 3 Surpasses One Million Pre-Orders

Now the question is, have you pre-ordered your copy yet? Gears of War 3 is now the fast, exclusive, title in Microsoft’s history to hit one million pre-orders. The beta just finished over on the Xbox 360, and I did get some time with it and loved what I saw and played. Over on Major Nelson‘s site, some information was posted about the beta:

Over the course of four weeks, 1.29 million players played more than 11 million multiplayer matches. Here are some of the other interesting stats:

– 145 different countries participated in the beta
– 249 years worth of matches played
– More than 11 million matches completed
– More than 927 million kills recorded
– More than 131 million executions performed
– More than 23 million deaths by chainsaw
– Nearly 23 BILLION bullets fired
– 4.9 billion ribbons and 291M medals earned
– 435K people earned the Beta exclusive Thrashball Cole skin to use in the retail game when it launches in September
– 234K people earned the Beta exclusive Gold Retro Lancer to use in the retail game when it launches in September

Now if you are looking for a pre-order deal, I’m finding it hard to beat what Amazon has right now. You not only get a code for the Savage Kantus skin (as seen below), but you also get a $20 credit for your next video game purchase. That really puts Gears of War 3 in your hands for only $40.
