Planned to go live this Monday, June 6th, Nintendo’s newest foray into the online game download space will hopefully prove more fruitful than their last ventures on the DS and Wii. To entice 3DS owners, Nintendo plans to have Excitebike 3D and a 3D Pokedex application for free on the eShop’s launch. Excitebike isn’t seeing too many drastic changes from its original, besides 3D and an added track editor. The Pokedex application is a bit more interesting, however. Here are the full details:
Pokédex 3D will be available at the launch of the Nintendo 3DS eShop. It’s a free application that allows you to view all the new Pokémon from Pokémon Black and White, along with details about those Pokémon and their moves. But there’s only sixteen Pokémon in your Pokédex at first, so you have to scan in new entries via QR Codes or by trading data with friends. Plus, there’s an augmented reality mode that sounds like you can take photos of Pokémon in the real world using the question block card.
Look for Pokedex 3D and Excitebike 3D when the 3DS’s eShop launches June 6th.
