Natsume Announces E3 Lineup

Gaming giant Natsume has announced their lineup of games that will feature playable demos at this year’s E3. Fans will be happy to see the return of popular franchises, Rune Factory and Harvest Moon:

  • Rune Factory: Tales of Destiny will be debuted on the PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii consoles.
    • Press Release Description: “In Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny, players take
control of the giant golem Ymir to cross vast seas, uncover fertile
farmlands, battle dangerous monsters, and discover dungeons packed
with treasure and danger! An ocean of possibilities awaits!”
  • Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns will be debuted on the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo DS consoles.
    • Press Release Description: “Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns features a great new cast of characters, fun-filled new festivals, and a new request system that
lets player take on hundreds of mini-quests to earn extra rewards!
Players choose which of two feuding villages to live in, then they’ll
build a thriving farm, compete in challenging culinary contests, and
befriend townsfolk, all in hope of bringing these fighting villages
      together once again!
  • Gabrille’s Ghostly Groove will be debuted on the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo DS consoles.
    • Press Release Description: “Gabrielle’s having a bad day. She sneezed her soul right out of her body! She’ll have to travel to Monster Town, the home of all things
that go bump in the night, to get help. Only by busting out the
ghostliest dance moves and thrilling and chilling people will she be
able to scare up the power she needs to get herself back into her
body! It’s a spooktacular rhythm adventure!”
  • Real Fishing Paradise 3D will be debuted on the Nintendo 3DS console.
    • Press Release Description: “With gorgeous 3D environments and fish that leap off the screen at you, this is a fishing game like none you’ve ever seen before!  Reel
Fishing Paradise 3D takes players to 15 stunning fishing locales in
their quest to become master anglers. They’ll fish tranquil lakes,
rocky coasts, flooded forests, and more, all rendered in eye-popping
3D that brings every leaping fish and splash of water to life. A huge
variety of fish will test the expertise of even the most seasoned
fishing veterans, from wily largemouth bass to powerful bluefin tuna.
Players can choose from more than 100 pieces of tackle and three
styles of fishing: lure, fly, and bait. With so much to see and do,
Reel Fishing Paradise 3D is a game that will have players hooked!”

While I am excited to see new 3DS titles, it is becoming quickly apparent that anyone who invested in a 3DS is not gaining that much different of a gameplay experience. With every title shown by Natsume to be available to Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo DS users, save for the not-particularly-intriguing Real Fishing Paradise 3D, it is difficult to know for certain if the 3D component is going to factor heavily into the game.
