E3 2011: PlayStation Vita Priced

For all of you who were just watching Sony’s E3 Conference, the PlayStation Vita (as it has now been named) has received official pricing information. These prices are $250 for the Wi-Fi only model and $300 for the 3G compatibly version with AT & T service. To convert to Japanese and European currency (yen and euros), this means 24,980 yen (with tax) and 29,980 yen as well as 249 and 299 euros. I’m actually surprised how cheap it is and that it matched the 3DS in price, Well done, Sony, well done.

  • what a great price, I really didn’t think it was going to be this low, I was thinking $399 or so.

I would never have guessed it would launch at anything less than $300.  I just got a lot closer to buying one of these things.  Any word on the price of the games?  If they can keep them under $40, I’ll definitely be buying one.
