Free Game Friday: Daggerfall

You’ve probably noticed over the last few weeks that I’ve been on a real RPG kick lately. This week, I’m bringing the RPG heat with a serious classic and precursor to one of 2011’s most anticipated games. That’s right, this week’s offering is none other than Bethesda Softworks The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall!

By what magics can I bring you this game absolutely free? Well you see, back in 2009, Bethesda released Daggerfall for free on their Elder Scrolls website! So it’s totally legit. The only catch is that you also have to download a DOS emulator (like DOSBox) to play it.

What’s that? You don’t want to download a DOS emulator, AND you want the official questpack that came in the Special Edition AND you want the option of installing a number of fan made mods and languages? Well then check this out.

What do you think of this week’s Free Game Friday? Do you like it? Loathe it? Do you have a suggestion for next week’s free game? Tell us in the forums!

All I remember from this game is cardboard cut-outs, walking in a straight line forever and stealing horses and children. Having said that, my weekend is now shut down.

    Just as planned.
