Developed by Team Bondi and published by Rockstar, L.A. Noire was — and is — a game worthy of recognition. Although many assumed Noire would be nothing more than Grand Theft Auto 1940’s, it, instead, turned out to be a technological pioneer and a fantastic detective story; it is a game that strays quite far from the GTA mold.
And it looks like that variation has paid off: with 899k sales, L.A. Noire claimed the #1 spot for May. Although it hasn’t quite hit the 1 million mark, this original IP has definitely made a splash. I can only hope that this proves the viability of Bondi’s facial capture technology.
For those of you who have played it: do you think the realism of L.A. Noire‘s characters is worth the price tag, or is it simply a gimmick?
