Cabela’s Big Game Hunter 2012 Coming September 27th

Activision and Cabela are teaming up again to bring another entry in the long running Cabela’s Big Game Hunter to market.  Cabela’s Big Game Hunter 2012 promises to provide “the most realistic hunt yet”, for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii (though, if the game retains the power-ups and boss fights from last years game that might be a hard claim to make).

Players will be able to choose from a wide range of realistic and licensed weapons and gear, and take to the wilderness to hunt big game across mountains, forests, valleys and many more environments around the world.

This year’s entry will include improved animal movements to give players clues on what they will do next. Aspiring hunters will need to “utilize master hunting skills such as advanced stalking techniques so they can quickly move through cover and close in on targets.”

Detailed bullet dynamics are being included which will allow players to “account for wind direction and bullet drop”, and upgradeable gear will “produce visible strengths and weaknesses depending on the situation.”

On top of the other improvements Cabela’s Big Game Hunter 2012 will also include new multiplayer modes allowing up to four people to “take turns, work together, or challenge each other in different arcade shooting galleries.”

Cabela’s Big Game Hunter 2012 will utilize the Top Shot Elite gun to give players a more realistic feel and the game will be sold bundled with the gun or separately for users who already own it.

You can follow updates on Cabela’s Big Game Hunt 2012 and the Cabela’s series on Twitter (@ActivisionHunts) or Facebook.
It appears this year Activision has avoided releasing their Cabela’s game on the same day as Halo, unless that had been their devious plan all along.

What makes you believe this is the best hunting game? The best game by far is The Hunter ( Hunting includes much more than some sort of arcade shooting at animals.

My apologies, I didnt cite what I was sourcing. All this information was from the games press release. I am not trying to give the impression that a game I have never played is the best of its genre.

If you read the first paragraph again I never said it IS the best hunting game, only that it promises to be the most realistic. Obviously a discerning player like you knows what hunting games are good. The Hunter is a very interesting game and is probably much more detailed and closer to a simulation than Cabela’s games are.
