The King of Fighters franchise has always been the Japanese-focused friendly rival of the Street Fighters. While, in the minds of most of America, Mortal Kombat waged war with the Capcom crew, SNK’s King of Fighters were the challengers always up for a good spar. Succeeding the Fatal Fury franchise, King of Fighters has, like its namesake, turned into a yearly tournament, and 2012 is no different, entering the 13th iteration of the fight. This October, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 owners will be able to enter the tournament, and Atlus has confirmed the return of Billy Kane to the roster.
Billy Kane, the British stick-fighter, first appeared in the original Fatal Fury: King of Fighters 20 years ago. While absent from the arcade release, he’ll be in the home console version. He’s also notably absent from the new trailer.
Does Billy’s addition make you want to pick up the game more?
