Call Of Duty $1 Million Dollar Tournament

Do you and your precision joystick wielding thumbs posses crazy Call of Duty skills? If you truly think so, then here is your chance to prove it! Call of Duty will be holding an official $1 Million Dollar Tournament in the coming months, sponsored by Microsoft/Xbox 360, and now is the time to start fighting for your chance to compete. The tourney will consist of 32 four-person teams, facing off in Domination and Team Deathmatch (you can go here for a full breakdown on all 32 slots). The first place team will be taking home a $400,000 prize, with other rewards still going out to the top 8 finalist teams. That is an impressive mountain of cash that you could potentially win for doing something you already love and most likely would have done for free.

If you think you have what it takes, the first thing you will need to do is qualify for a spot on one of the 32 teams. There are several ways for you to go about this, including via Operations in the Call of Duty Elite Beta, via GameStop and live at Call of Duty XP if you happen to be a ticket holder. If you don’t live in the US, there is no need to worry, slots will be available for international players as well. To qualify for a spot through GameStop, you will need to pre-order Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, then log into your Call of Duty Elite account, enter your tournament code and then compete to win August 6-7th on Call of Duty: Black Ops over Xbox Live (there are more details on how to get your tournament code and other details here). Those of you who signed up for the Call of Duty Elite Beta will have chances to qualify as follows:

August 5th & 6th

Team Deathmatch: Most Kills

Domination: Most Captures

Domination: Most Defends

Get some!

The final four spots will be decided live at the Call of Duty XP event on September 2nd. Think you have what it takes? I know I don’t, but I would love to shake the skilled hand of the man that does. Just think of the gaming room you could build yourself with a $400,000 budget… Even if you didn’t win, it would still be fun to compete and you’d have at least minor bragging rights. Practice those head shots and leet nade kills boys, you won’t be facing newbs this time around.
