Battlefield 3 Will Feature Server Browser On Console

One feature that PC gamers have always enjoyed is the server browser. Instead of having to use a quick join or match-making service, PC gamers were given the luxury of being able to see every server and sort by almost any option – number of players, map, gameplay options, and more.

Some console games let you choose a specific gametype or even a specific map, but none have brought the flexibility and functionality of the full-fledged  server browser until now. Today at GamesCom, an annual videogame trade fair in Germany, DICE General Manager Karl Magnus confirmed that the console version of Battlefield 3 will feature a server browser.

EA isnt cutting any corners on the console version of Battlefield 3. While there are some limitations to the console version, such as inferior graphics and a lower player count, EA is doing all it can. This is a big difference compared to Battlefield 2: Modern Combat for Xbox 360 that had a significantly limited feature set when compared to the PC version.

  •  First off, Title does not accurately describe the article. The title says”on Pc” and in reality, the news would be that it is now on 360. Also, comparing battlefield 3 to battlefield 2 is a hard one to do when Bad Company 2 would be the most recent addition in the series. Its like comparing MW2 to MW3 and ignoring Black Ops.

Yeah I just noticed the error in the title. Sorry about that.

Also I compared Battlefield 2 to Battlefield 3 are both full featured titles. Bad Company 2 had a lot of features but did not have planes among some other things. So I was just saying that this iteration of Battlefield for consoles is equal in features to the PC version.

When you compare MW3 to anything it will be MW2 because A) Black ops was made by a different developer and B) they are two completely different styles of game despite the shared name. Also C) Alot of people choose to ignore Blops regardless

Killzone 2 had a server browser.

Killzone 2 allowed you to create your own games and choose games that other people created via sever browser. How much flexible can it get?

Learn to do your research before make half-a$$ed blog posts. Killzone 2 allowed you to CREATE your own game. Can you do that in Battlefield?

I believe I rest my case. KZ2 is more flexible than BF.

The nongamer who wrote this article clearly has never played Killzone 2. FAIL
