The Professor Layton series has been somewhat of a sleeper hit in America. Praised for it’s puzzles, it’s been bigger in Japan, having had theatrical releases. While America’s a little bit behind in releasing the games, American players will get a head start that their Japanese cohorts didn’t get. The upcoming Professor Layton and the Last Specter will feature the RPG London Life for players at the start of the game.
In Japan, London Life was a prize for beating the main game. The 100+ hour RPG developed by Brownie Brown (the guys behind Mother 3) will be available at the very beginning of the Nintendo DS title. A “North American” exclusive, this effectively means that people purchasing Last Specter get two games at the onset. Speaking of bundling games, there’s still no word on an American release of the 3DS title, Professor Layton VS. Phoenix Wright.
With the news of London Life, are you looking into Last Specter more? Does having a post-game bonus at launch affect your purchase either way?
