Infamous 2’s “Update 3” Brings New UGC Content

Sucker Punch’s inFamous 2 has been out for around three months, and the shiny new content is still rolling in. The simply titled “Update 3” is now live for the game, and focuses all its attention on the user-generated content features of Sucker Punch’s open-world superhero action game. The coolest feature adds the game’s gigantic Devourer and Titan bosses for you to plop down in your own missions, play around with their AI (which is similar to all the other AI in the UGC creation steps) and wreak havoc through the streets of the already ramshackled New Marais. And providing fan service, Sucker Punch has added a new Mission Linking feature which fan feedback proved desired in the weeks following the game’s June release. It allows multiple UGC missions to be linked together, and played back-to-back. Besides a new Mission Review system, Sucker Punch also tweaked existing features, added some new ones, and corrected minor bugs:

•    Relative Health. You can now change “Health” and “Cole’s Energy” modifiers as percentages.
•    Volume/Monitor Reset. New “Reset When’ option on Volume and Monitor logic objects lets you change how or when they can be reset after being triggered.
•    Author Mission Search. Search results will now display the level author’s name.

Yeah, it’s boringly titled, but Update 3 seems to be a nice placation until the game’s Halloween-ish DLC Festival of Blood releases next month. Bring on the vamps!
