Frozen Byte’s Trine was a great success when it was released on PC and Steam in 2009 and continued its success upon its release on PSN a few months later. With Trine, Frozen Byte was able to create a beautiful 2D game that combined simple action controls with deep physics puzzle gameplay. Trine 2 will be released later this year on XBLA, PSN, PC, and Steam and looks to expand on all the original’s already established gameplay by adding an all new Co-op mode. Frozen Byte released a brand new video that showcases the absolutely gorgeous environments of Trine 2.
ATLUS and Frozenbyte, the respective publisher and developer of the upcoming Trine 2™, a high fantasy, physics-based action-platformer with cooperative online multiplayer, today released a new “Vibes” trailer. The video offers a lush visual tour of the many exotic and breathtaking environments in the game, which is slated to release on PlayStation®Network for PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, and PC later this year.
Heralded for their colorful, fantastical art direction, the Trine games place players in an incredibly detailed, unique realm, filled with dazzling flora and eyecatching creatures. The new trailer released today previews many of these unexplored, alluring areas, showing off Trine 2’s bold use of color and lighting.
Trine was praised for its lush environments and the video above shows that Trine 2 is not only following in the original’s footsteps but also surpassing it. There’s no exact release date for Trine 2 as of yet, but I will look forward to getting some co-op gaming in once it is released on XBLA later this year. Check back with Platform Nation as more information is released for the game.
