The next set of the latest Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 characters have been announced at Tokyo Game Show. Players might know the familiar Capcom antagonist while some hardcore Marvel fans will identify this chi-bound fighter.
Representing Capcom is Vergil, the secondary villain to Devil May Cry 3 and brother of series protagonist Dante. The katana-weilding character tries to be less of a Dante clone, even with some similar normal and special moves, and become a unique power hitter with some agility. His hyper combo includes summoning surrounding ghost swords and a full screen surrounding attack. A special hyper unique to Vergil is his level 3 move that actually requires his level 1 Devil Trigger hyper to activate.
Iron Fist is the latest Marvel character added to the list. As a martial artist superhero personified by Danny Rand, Iron Fist is very heavy hitting oriented and is more focused on his ground game than being more mobile in all fields. What makes Iron Fist interesting is his chi alignment where he can switch different modes but due to how the videos were shown, there isn’t enough evidence to how it’s utilized properly. His hyper combos are very powerful and can control space in case of rushdown players.
Stay tuned as the last four characters will get announced before its official release for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on Nov. 15, 2011. The game will also be available on the PlayStation Vita’s launch on Dec. 17, 2011 in Japan.
