Deus Ex: Human Revelation was a good game with high scores across the board. However the common consensus amongst players and reviewers alike was that the boss fights seemed out of place compared to the rest of the game.
It has now been revealed why.
The boss fights were developed by Grip Entertainment another developer in Montreal. In a behind the scenes interview the company president gave some insights into the development process. Perhaps the most revealing and maybe disturbing thing is one of his statements
“Full confession: I’m a shooter guy,”
“I was coming into this not knowing a lot about the Deus Ex world. The guys at Eidos gave us the design, gave us the engine… and we gave them back that experience.”
Personally I hated the boss fights in the game, I felt that they had been designed with specific augmentations in mind(mostly aggressive augmentations) which doesn’t lend itself to the play it your way style of the rest of the game.
