In 1993, Saban Entertainment premiered Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers. In 2011, Saban Brands premiered Power Rangers Samurai. Over 700 episodes, Power Rangers has continuously adapted the Japanese running franchise Super Sentai. In some other countries, they just dub Super Sentai as Power Rangers. In Korea, Mahou Sentai Magiranger was retitled Power Rangers Magic Force in 2006. Ntreev Soft figures they can add another MMO to Korea’s already crowded field.
A preview site for the game has gone up. While no details have been revealed, it’s expected to be a side-scrolling action RPG. Closed beta testing for the game will launch later this year. Given the relative age of the series in America (Power Rangers Mystic Force premiered in 2006 in America) and Bandai and Saban’s desire to focus on the current series Samurai, chances are it won’t come to America.
A Power Rangers Samurai game was produced for iOS, with games in the works for current consoles. Saban appears to be casting the adaptation of Tensou Sentai Goseiger to succeed the adaptation of Samurai Sentai Shinkenger.
