New League of Legends Mode: Dominion

Currently in Beta, the new map Dominion is available to play! Last night, it was made available for some short term enjoyment. Riot decides when it will be playable, I’m sure because of the multiple iterations and tweaking the map will go through before release.

A capture point while it is neutral

Ten new items have been added just for this map, plus a buff item, Oracle’s Extract (a variation on the item normally seen in Summoner’s Rift or Twisted Treeline). Two new Summoner spells have also been added:

A capture point being...captured.

Garrison

Allied Turret: Grants massive Regeneration and Attack Speed for 8 seconds.
Enemy Turret: Reduces Damage by 80% for 8 seconds.
Cooldown Duration: 210 seconds.

Grab your team's Greater Relic for a power boost

Promote
Promotes the nearest allied super minion to an anti-Turret Cannon, healing it, granting bonus stats, and causing it to grant the caster gold for its kills.
Cooldown Duration: 180 seconds

Complete the side quests to deal major damage to the enemy Nexus

The gameplay is very different from a typical League of Legends game. First off, all champions start at level 3 with 1375 gold. All items that utilize stacks to grow in power are now gone (e.g. Sword of the Occult). In addition, the “laning phase” you have grown accustomed to is gone.

Grab this for a small amount of HP

So, how does it work? There are five capture points on the map; the idea is to own at least 3 of the 5 capture points at any given time. If your team owns a majority of the capture points, the opposing team’s Nexus will slowly take damage. The enemy Nexus will also take damage when you kill an opposing player.

Pass through the speed shrine for a significant boost
