Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer – Rumour

Although not (yet) officially announced, the internet is buzzing with yet more rumours of multiplayer in Mass Effect 3.

Earlier this year a job listing for job listing for a “Multiplayer programmer (Mass Effect Franchise)” fueled speculation that a multiplayer component was destined for Mass Effect 3. The rumour got a boost when it was announced that a major feature will be announced in next months Xbox World.

However it seems that we don’t need to wait for the reveal as someone has spotted an ad which shows “online multiplayer pass” being included as part of the collector edition.

Some theories believe that this is just a mislabeled online network akin to the Cerberus network from Mass Effect 2. Others think that it was just a packaging design and not the final product.

BioWare are remaining tight lipped on the subject with a representative simply stating that:

 Mass Effect 3 is a single-player game

Does this mean that there is another game in the Mass Effect universe on the way? Perhaps the often mention Mass Effect MMO?  Or is BioWare just sticking with the above until it has been officially revealed. Only time will tell.

are you kidding me its a freaking RPG is doesn’t need multiplayer, Bioware isn’t wasting their time on some half-assed multiplayer on the crowning gem of their most successful series.

stop complaining about multiplier,  oh no Bioware is giving me more for my money. Really they delayed the game by 4 months, what do you think that was for. And Im sure there not just screwing the single player, they are probably going to touch it even more since there was a delay. And plus mass effect 1 and 2 didn’t have any replay value. And having multiplier will keep it going.

How did ME1 and ME2 have no replay value????? I don’t know about you, but I’m on my sixth play through of ME2. if you know anything about the mass effect series you will know that the point of it being such an amazing game is that you can change it with your decisions.

By developing a multiplayer mode they are taking time away from the single player mode. I would rather they make the single player mode the best it can possibly be. Not every game needs multiplayer. Look at AC Brotherhood, Bioshock 2, and Dead Space 2. The multiplayer modes in those games were completely unessessary.

    I would love a co-op multiplayer, but I don’t know if i would be a fan of a cod-style vs mode.
