Well kids, this morning we got the first trailer for “The Avengers”. It serves more as a long teaser, but we’ve got enough here to tell that the movie still has hope of being the first ever successful “team” superhero flick. Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) looks fantastic of course, Evans as Captain America look’s like- well Evans as Cap. America, Downey’s still rocking Tony Stark with his usual zeal, Hemsworth’s Thor costume looks as though it was altered for The Avengers, and I think it looks great. Sadly the two newcomers, who have yet to really be heard from, didn’t get much play in this extended teaser. Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and Mark Ruffalo as Hulk only get a few seconds each, but these are both great actors, and seeing them in the mix at all is pretty exciting.
I’m known to be a DC comics fan first, I would take Justice League over The Avengers any day, but you can be damn sure I’ll be there for the midnight release. It would serve all comic fans well for this to be successful, I’m not expecting the Dark Knight, I just want a solid action film that shows the other studios this kind of thing can be done. Maybe then my dream of a Batman/Superman film, or JLA film for that matter, might actually happen.
