While this launch trailer is ostensibly what you saw in the launch TV spot from earlier this week except stretched out from 30 seconds to two and a half minutes, it seems so much more…grand, and that’s because it is.
I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it seems more like a trailer for an Oscar-contender movie than just another video game (albeit a big-budget, high-profile one). The pleasure I’ve derived from this full trailer compared to the TV spot has increased as such: exponentially.
I’ve been trying to avoid as much as possible in the way of news or previews for Uncharted 3 (the same as I did for Batman: Arkham City) so as to go into the game pure, but my Twitter feed literally blew up after this trailer came out. My curiosity took the reigns and I never looked back.
We get teased as to how dark Drake’s genuine deception really is, how sinister Katherine Marlow can be, how varied and exciting the set pieces will get, and how hard Nathan Drake will get boned. I am titillated.
